1.Your kitchen sink
Kitchen sinks are dirtier than most bathrooms. There are typically more than 500,000 bacteria per square inch in the drain alone. Plus your sponge, basin and faucet handles are crawling with bacteria as well.
2.Airplane bathrooms
It may not be a shock that there are a huge number of germs in most public bathrooms, but experts agree the cramped and overused ones on airplanes are the worst. There are often traces of E. coli or fecal bacteria on the faucets and door handles because it’s hard to wash hands in the tiny sinks. And the volcanic flush of the commode tends to spew particles into the air, coating the floor and walls with whatever had been swirling around in it.
3.A load of wet laundry
Any time you transfer underwear from the washer to the dryer, you’re getting E. coli on your hands. Just one soiled undergarment can spread bacteria to the whole load and machine.
4.Public drinking fountains
Drinking fountains are bound to be germy, but school fountains are the worst, with anywhere from 62,000 to 2.7 million bacteria per square inch on the spigot
5.Shopping cart handles
Saliva, bacteria and fecal matter are just a few of the substances found on shopping cart handles. Cart handles rank high on the yuck scale because they’re handled by dozens of people every day and, of course, raw food carries nasty pathogens.
6.ATM buttons
If you’re not careful, you might pick up more than quick cash from your local ATM. These buttons have more gunk on them than most public-bathroom doorknobs! ATMs aren’t frequently cleaned, and are regularly touched — a perfect combination for a lot of germs.
7.Your handbag
Recent studies found that most women’s purses had tens of thousands of bacteria on the bottom and a few were overrun with millions. Another study found bugs like pseudomonas (which can cause eye infections) and skin-infection-causing staphylococcus bacteria, as well as salmonella and E. coli.
8.Playgrounds
There’s just no way to put this delicately: Children tend to ooze bodily fluids and then spread them around. When researchers sampled playgrounds, they found blood, mucus, saliva and urine. Pair those findings with the fact that children put their fingers in their mouths and noses more than the rest of us, and it’s easy to understand why Junior (and maybe his mom or dad) has the sniffles.
9.Mats and machines at health clubs
Antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus has been found on yoga mats and cardio and resistance machines. At high schools, antibiotic-resistant-staph infections have been transmitted through wrestling mats. The same thing could happen at health clubs.
10.Your bathtub
Shocking, but true: The place you go to get clean is quite dirty. A recent study found staphylococcus bacteria, a common cause of serious skin infections, in 26 percent of the tubs tested, as compared with just 6 percent of garbage cans. Tubs typically had more than 100,000 bacteria per square inch! You’re washing germs and viruses off your body and the tub is a fairly moist environment, so bacteria can grow.

Money is kind of tight in my family. But my mom and dad both have jobs but we are defiantly not rich. My mom asked me to write a wish list for Christmas. I was just wondering if I sound greedy or I am asking for too much:

IPod Nano- Chromatic: 9
Gift Card:
Charm Bracelet:
Fashion designing kit: .50
Perfume:
Make-up:
Converse Sneakers:
Yoga Mat:

Please don’t say I am spoiled because if I was I would not be asking this question I would be a bratty little kid writing every expensive thing I can think of on my list!

Thank you!
I also have 2 brothers; 15,18

We don’t have a lot of family to buy for so that saves A LOT of money
I do yoga so yes I am going to use it.

Daily Grommet has a good grip on JadeYoga’s eco-friendly yoga mats. They’re slip-resistant and made from natural rubber, a renewable resource. j.mp

this asana if kind of like child’s pose, it might even be a different variation of child’s pose (i’m not sure).

Instead of moving your butt backwards, you move your arms forward and then you have to keep your chest parallel to the floor maybe?…i can’t remember!!!

if you think you know what it is then tell me, but describe it to me as well so that i know we are both thinking about the same pose lol…

the only thing that i for sure remember was that at first i got confused and thought we were in child’s pose but then i noticed everyone walking their hands to the top of their mat instead of sitting back into child’s pose.

thanks!!!

I am looking for an 18-22 yr old, exotic, non-caucasian, physically fit, scantily clad, live-in house keeper who will work for free. My husband does not agree because he feels we would be exploiting him and that would be bad karma. I will not treat him like a slave, even though he will have to do our chores and clean our pool, he will be getting a lot in return such as a room a to call his own with wifi and satellite and ps3 and a yoga mat, daily meals with our family, I will keep him well clothed and pampered, he will come on family vacations, and I will service him sexually several times a week…the only catch is that my husband will be watching. This is not exploitation at all, I am an experienced, spiritual, sexy 38 yr old milf with lots of love and passion to share. This kid will be thankful that I am putting a roof over his head and giving him the experience of a life time, a real sexual education…which is priceless. But how can I convince my husband of this? He doesn’t mind me banging other men since we are swingers, and he does not mind having a housekeeper, he just it feels this would be bad karma and would bring negative spiritual cords to our house if we do not pay him. I do not want to pay him because we are on a budget, and I don’t feel he would deserve the money since he would be getting all the things I mentioned above. So what do you guys think? Advice please…how do you guys deal with such problems in your marriages, and do you think this would be bad karma? Thank you and namaste.

The benefits of practicing yoga for children. With Shari Vilchez-Blatt, founder, “Karma Kids Yoga”.

Where do I start? How do I start? I can’t even touch my toes. If I stand on one foot for longer than .0003 milliseconds I fall over.

Back injuries prevent me from doing a lot of the poses. I can’t even do one push up. I’m 300 pounds overweight and suffer a lot of back and joint pain.

I can’t even do the child’s pose properly.

But I want to do yoga, and I’m so confused about the information out there.

Do I *really* need a mat? Do I *really* need those yoga blocks, and do I *really* need a yoga strap?

I’m not flexible or fit enough take a class. Besides- I feel stupid not being able to do half the stuff the rest of the class can. Last time I even tried to attempt downward facing dog I had a back cramp for a almost a week!

But like I said, I really want to do yoga, and start. But I’m overwhelmed with all the info out there and am clueless about where to start.

I’ve had people tell me I need yoga pants and a yoga top before I start yoga, but HA! No store sells them in my size-I need at least a 6x, and the stores only sell yoga pants/shirts up to a Large. 1 x if I’m lucky.

And straps, mats and blocks!!! I’ve been told I need them, and been told I don’t. My head is spinning. Do I start off with a book? Do I start off with a video?

Do I need a mat, a block and/or a strap? Will it help? Will it not help? And what are some good books and videos for someone who’s wanting to do yoga but is fat, overweight and has chronic pain issues that can’t even touch their knees, much less their toes?

Thanks!!

So I am 14, and my little sis is 11, and I am curvy, and average weight. (I am 5 foot 6, and I weigh 136 pounds.) So I am a little above average. (I wear a size 5 or 6, but when I was 11, I was a size 10 regular in kids.)
My sis has always been really skinny, and when she started grade 5, she was a size 10 slim in kids and a 30AA bra size she weighed 66. That year she went up to a 12 regular and 32B in the winter, and now, she is in grade 6, it’s fall, and still a 12 regular, 32B bra size and she weighs 92. I haven’t had my period yet, and every woman in the family had their’s at 15-17 yrs old. We took her to the doctor, and she has no signs of her period coming. So it’s just weight. We eat very healthy, too.
I know that this isn’t healthy for her to weigh this. 72 pounds is her ideal weight, (the Dr. said.) So how can we do exercises together to lose weight. (about 20 pounds for her, 10-18 for me.) So please, give me exercises and then explain them because I might not no how to do them. Thanks!
(We have a wii but not wiifit. We have 2 yoga balls and weights and yoga mat, and lots of space to exercise.
Thanks!

i kissed this guy the other night, i was the "predator" in that I initiated conversation but he was also attracted to me. He was very intense when we were kissing and told me he wanted to meet me again and felt something special for me that he couldnt explain. He is attached but his gf is older with kids and he feels a bit trapped. Is he just playing around or does he want out? He said he liked getting up in the morning to do yoga and so do i, but I have a yoga mat in my room that he may have seen. I’m inclined to think he really wants to be with me but i would not like to encourage him and then discover he’s a player. Could he just be saying certain things because they’ve worked for him before, of does he really have feelings for me?
