Entry from: Sydney, Australia Entry Title: “Manly cliff walk” Entry: “We managed to sleep in until 6am, which was great. Paul and the kids went out in search of coffee and breakie. Starbuck’s wasn’t open yet, so we ended up with Hungry Jack lattes, which weren’t very good. A little before 8am, we were out and about, walking towards the quay. A few people were out as well — some early birds with their yoga mats, but more staggering home from wild Friday nights. We stopped for coffee along the quayside … while Paul and the kids ordered, I retraced our steps to find out why masses of people were gathering outside an office building: waiting to sit for exams, offered to those who had qualified as doctors in other countries, to see if they could practice medicine in Australia. The plan for the day was to ferry over to Manly, then walk along the cliffs to the Spit. Our luck was in: the ferry departed at 9am (they run every half-hour or so) — just five minutes after we purchased our tickets. It was a gorgeous day: warm and very clear. We passed the Opera House while it was still the Silver Hour. The ferry was very uncrowded, so we were able to walk around to different parts of the deck as we passed carious sites. www.yogainmyschool.com presents this fun version of Shark Pose (Dolphin Pose) especially for kids. Once you know how to do Shark Pose (see other video) combine it with a favourite camp song for an engaging kids yoga activity. This activity develops numerous skills in children such as turn taking, language ability, musical intelligence, and kinaestetic learning. Plus it’s simply lots of fun. My favourite part is at the end when they go from the frenzy of SHARK ATTACK to the calm of Namaste.
